About me

Welcome to my website! My name is Kristina Raevsky and I am a 7th grader at Halsey JHS 157. I live with my mom and dad in Forest Hills, Queens, NY. I’ve always had an ambition for writing and started writing actual short stories when I was in 5th grade. It was the silver lining of COVID-19 lockdowns, because thanks to the remote learning, I had all the extra time to really dive deep and expand my school projects. That school year, I wrote three short stories and published them. The self-illustrated color book is called Fly Me to the Moon and Other Stories. I love to talk and prove people wrong, so I joined my school's debate team. My team has participated in 4 citywide middle school competitions thus far hosted by the NYC Urban Debate League. We qualified for the statewide competion last April and placed #6 in the entire state of NY. I am very patriotic and love America. This is the land of freedom and opportunity where if you work hard, you can achieve anything. I do have some concerns about the direction of our country and have published my second book, A Sheep's Tale - Young Patriot's Guide to Saving America, which touches on this topic. Furthermore, I also entered and won the Rush Revere Young Patriot's Scholoarship by the Rush and Kathryn Adams Limbaugh Family Foundation! I am also the proud recipient of the Young American Patriot of the Year award from the Queens Village Republican Club! I am also very active in my community. In 2021, the NYC Department of Education came up with a new admissions policy for rigorous high schools which went from merit/grades to lucky lottery. I found this extremely unfair because it goes against all our American principles of hard work pays off. To put pressure on the DOE in hopes of getting them to change the policy, I spoke out against this at my school district’s Community Education Council meetings. I also wrote op-eds to the Queens Chronicle newspaper and appeared on Fox 5 and PIX11 regarding this issue.
In the future, I have desires to get into politics and run for US Congress. I really hope to make a difference in Congress and be a voice of reason- we need more common sense politicians! I am a passionate, dedicated, hardworking girl and I'm proud of all my accomplishments. I hope you enjoy reading about them and check back for my blog. -Kristina Raevsky
